Our Signature Service

Native Garden Design & Installation

Every garden we design is a collaboration between botanical science and your vision. We don't just plant — we create living landscapes that grow more beautiful every year, reduce your water usage, and support the ecosystem you are part of.

Our Process

From first conversation to thriving garden, every step is guided by horticultural expertise and attention to detail.

1

Consultation

We walk your property together. I assess soil type, sun exposure, drainage patterns, and existing plantings. We discuss your vision, lifestyle, and how you want to use your outdoor space. You leave with a clear understanding of what is possible.

2

Design

Using your property assessment and our conversation, I create a detailed planting plan. Every plant is mapped with purpose — height, bloom time, color, texture, and wildlife value are all considered. You receive a visual rendering and a comprehensive plant list.

3

Plant Selection

As a licensed wholesale nursery, I source plants directly. This means higher quality stock at better prices, and I can guarantee that every plant is appropriate for your specific conditions. No big-box store gambles.

4

Installation

Proper installation is everything. We prepare soil with the right amendments (not generic topsoil), install plants at the correct depth and spacing, apply appropriate mulch, and set up temporary irrigation if needed. Every detail matters.

5

Aftercare

Your garden does not end at installation. We provide a detailed care guide specific to your plantings, check in during the first growing season, and offer maintenance programs to keep your garden thriving for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most.

What exactly is a native plant, and why does it matter?

A native plant is one that evolved naturally in a specific region — in our case, the Colorado Front Range. These plants have spent thousands of years adapting to our exact soil, rainfall patterns, altitude, and temperature swings. That means they require dramatically less water, fewer (if any) chemical inputs, and almost no fussing once established. They also support local pollinators and wildlife in ways that non-native ornamentals simply cannot.

Will my yard still look designed and intentional, not wild?

Absolutely. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about native landscaping. A well-designed native garden is every bit as polished and intentional as a traditional landscape. We use the same design principles — rhythm, repetition, contrast, focal points — but with plants that actually belong here. Think structured meadow, not abandoned field.

How long until my native garden looks established?

There is a saying in native gardening: first year they sleep, second year they creep, third year they leap. Most native gardens look good right after installation, noticeably better in year two, and truly spectacular by year three as root systems mature and plants fill in. We design with this timeline in mind, using a mix of quick-establishing species and long-term anchors.

Do I qualify for water rebates with a native landscape?

Most likely, yes. The City of Fort Collins, Loveland, and many HOAs offer rebates or incentives for replacing traditional turf with water-wise landscapes. Requirements vary, but our designs are specifically created to meet or exceed these criteria. We will walk you through the rebate process and help with any documentation needed.

Can you work with my HOA's landscape requirements?

We work with HOAs regularly and have yet to be turned down. The key is a professional design that demonstrates intentionality. We prepare HOA-ready documentation including planting plans, species lists with photos, and maintenance schedules. Most HOAs are actually pleased with the result — it raises property values and reduces common-area water costs.
